Hire a Storyteller

The Directory of Indiana Storytellers is compiled annually by Storytelling Arts of Indiana. The storytellers pay a fee to be included in the directory. The storyellers have not been screened or selected by Storytelling Arts of Indiana.

After reading through the directory, select several storytellers who seem to fit your needs. Contact the tellers by phone or email and discuss the following: the date, the time, location of the performance, type of performance space, the audience size and age range, length of program, availability of a sound system, types of stories or theme of the program and budget. Ask the teller for references, where you can see them perform, and then take the time to see them tell stories. There is no subsitute for first-hand knowledge of a storyteller's style, technique and ability.
