We welcome back master storyteller Donald Davis for a very special evening of stories. His homespun wit and wisdom always makes him a crowd favorite. Donald Davis grew up in the mountains of southern Appalachia, in a world rich with stories. As a young man, he gravitated toward stories about his own family and places of origin. As he retold stories, he gradually began adding new ones. He spent 25 years as a United Methodist Minister. His humor has captured the imagination of thousands of audience members. Smithsonian Magazine says Davis is “a master of timing” and he has his audience “hanging on his every word.” According to The New York Times, “His stories often left listeners limp with laughter at the same time they struggled with a lump in the throat.” He has had 18 books published and has more than 40 original recordings. He has received national accolades for his storytelling, Including the Circle of Excellence and the Lifetime Achievement Awards from the National Storytelling Network. He has also appeared on National Public Radio, CNN, and ABC’s Nightline.
