In partnership with Source River West
In collaboration with Barnes & Thornburg and Accent on Business
October 27, 2017 and November 3, 2017
During this two part series (October 27 and November 3), our presenters Sally Perkins and Ellen Dunnigan will guide participants through a process that will help them understand the value of telling stories of their business or not-for-profit. Participants will learn how to identify their target audience(s) as well as the purpose in telling the story to that particular audience(s). Participants will learn the elements of effective stories as they discover and shape at least one great story about their business or not-for-profit.
During the second session, participants will refine the stories generated in session one. The focus will be specifically on the “oral” telling of stories, knowing that if you can tell your story orally, you can then translate it to effective digital and written formats. Participants will also learn and practice some specific, easy-to-implement techniques to tell the story orally for maximum impact.
Ellen Dunnigan is the President and CEO of Accent on Business specializing in public speaking and communication skills. Sally Perkins is a professional storyteller who offers coaching to help individuals use storytelling in professional presentations. Together they make the perfect team for The Story of Your Business and the Business of Your Story.
