full joshJosh grew up in the mountains of Madison County, North Carolina.  He was raised by a family of storytellers and musicians; he has no shortage of incredible stories to tell. His musical talents have earned him national recognition.  His music has been featured in the movie Songcatcher and the PBS documentary Folkways: The Fiddle.  He started out young, surrounded by the musical traditions of North Carolina.  He began playing the piano in church when he was just 4 years old, and never looked back after that.  Throughout his life, he has become fluent in ten different musical instruments, including the fiddle, guitar, banjo, and paper bag.  His musical heritage has influenced the stories he shares with us today.
